This workshop will cover the basics of American Clay, from mixing to actually troweling in the class. American Clay is 100% environmentally friendly product that rivals Italian Plasters but with many more benefits and less cost. This is a great product for the home or commercial space as it offers many healthy benefits and is a natural alternative to traditional plasters. Come learn more about the product and leave with your own clay samples.

AMERICAN CLAY - GETTIN' DIRTIER

Prerequisite: completion of one day American Clay class with registered instructor

In this second day intensive workshop explore the versatility of American Clay with hands on practice. Besides a quick overview for those who need a refresher on the basics, you get a full day to experiment with multiple creative techniques, create unique finishes using professional sealants, soaps, play with stencil embossing, hand paint on the clay with pigments fresco style and mastering repair work. After this class you will be able to master any American Clay project large or small.

GUILDING THE WORLD

Instructor: Laura Schoemehl of Colori in San Francisco

Guilding with everything from silver leaf, copper, faux gold and then using sulpheric acids to gain depth and patinas in the leaf after application will teach you how to do small items from frames for clients to large installations in hotels. You leave with samples and a full undertanding and practice of the art of guilding for professionals and do it yourselfers.

Time: 9am - 1pm Saturday and Sunday
